Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Shepherd mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
Description of Service
Shepherd is a mobile application that provides:
- Beautifully narrated Bible stories with audio and visuals
- Bible reading in multiple translations
- AI-powered answers to faith questions
- Daily Bible verses and related features
User Accounts
Some features of the App may require you to create an account. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
Subscriptions and Payments
Premium Subscriptions
Shepherd offers premium subscriptions that unlock additional content and features. Subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store.
Billing
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings
Refunds
Refund requests are handled by Apple according to their refund policies. We cannot process refunds directly.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or networks
- Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from App content without permission
- Use the App in any way that could harm minors
- Use automated systems to access the App without permission
Intellectual Property
All content in the App, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, audio, video, and software, is the property of Shepherd or its content suppliers and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
Bible translations are used under license from their respective copyright holders. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute Bible text for commercial purposes.
AI Chat Feature
The AI chat feature is designed to provide helpful, Scripture-based responses to faith questions. However:
- AI responses are generated by artificial intelligence and should not be considered professional theological, legal, medical, or psychological advice
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of AI responses
- AI responses should be used as a starting point for exploration, not as authoritative guidance
- Always consult with qualified professionals and spiritual leaders for important matters
Content Guidelines
Shepherd provides Scripture-based content designed for spiritual growth and understanding. The app presents Biblical narratives with theological depth and is intended for mature audiences seeking to deepen their faith.
Third-Party Links and Services
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of third-party sites.
Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- The results obtained from using the App will be accurate or reliable
- Any errors in the App will be corrected
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHEPHERD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Shepherd and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new Terms in the App and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Shepherd operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Shepherd regarding the use of the App.
